Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 170ml oil

  • 1 cup of full cream milk

  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup 100% cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup hot water

  • 3 teaspoons of instant coffee or 120ml of brewed coffee

  • 2 egg whites, beaten (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder

  • Frosting / Filling
  • 300g chocolate (150g half milk, 150g half dark)

  • 300g heavy cream

Directions

  • Beat the eggs and sugar until frothy. Add the oil and beat a little more. Then add the milk curdled with vinegar and mix.
  • Add the sifted flour mixed with cocoa and continue to mix
  • Add the coffee diluted in water and continue to mix (If you are going to add the beaten egg whites, fold them in at this point)
  • Add the baking powder and gently stir.
  • Pour into the pan (22cm pan) and bake
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350°F) for about 40 to 50 minutes.
